The first 252 kV buscouple fast circuit breaker has the conditions for grid application

At 15:00 on October 31, in the 220 kV Taole substation in Shizuishan, Ningxia, the first domestic bus coupler fast circuit breaker that was just put into operation quickly opened in 12.6 milliseconds, limiting the short circuit current to the load bearing range of the network equipment. The single-phase instantaneous artificial grounding short circuit test of the 252 kV buscouple fast circuit breaker project of Taole substation was successful, and it has the conditions for grid application.

In recent years, the 750 kV double-loop network in Ningxia has been formed. In order to solve the problem that the short circuit current of the 220 kV substation in the northern Ningxia power grid exceeds the standard, the Ningxia Academy of Electrical Sciences, together with Anhui Huidian Technology Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Jiaotong University, has developed the 252 kV bus coupler fast circuit breaker, and the Shizuishan Power Supply Company has undertaken the "clinical test" - the operation in the 220 kV Taole substation. Through artificial simulation of single-phase instantaneous grounding short circuit, it is verified that the 252 kV bus coupler fast circuit breaker can be quickly disconnected within 20 ms when the 220 kV AC system has a short circuit fault in the near area, which splits the two buses of the substation and ensures the safe disconnection of all conventional circuit breakers in the station.

In order to ensure the smooth connection and safe operation of the new circuit breaker, Shizuishan Power Supply Company organized professional personnel to supervise the delivery of the bus coupler fast circuit breaker in the whole process in combination with the structural principle, action logic and other characteristics of the bus coupler fast circuit breaker, and prepared the installation and test plan in line with the actual situation on the site, so as to complete the installation work safely and orderly. Shizuishan Power Supply Company carefully formulated the test plan to minimize the safety risks brought by the test to Shizuishan Power Grid, reasonably arranged the grid operation mode, communicated with the surrounding key users and power plants in advance, strengthened the operation monitoring and made emergency plans.

Next, the 252 kV bus coupler fast circuit breaker will be put into trial operation for one year in Shizuishan power grid. Shizuishan Power Supply Company will conduct special inspections and focus on monitoring the equipment, and standardize the operation records to continuously verify the application effect of new technologies and new equipment.
